Make Your Own Pillow Spray!

January 25, 2011

After a long day, imagine laying your head down on a fluffy pillow lightly scented with your favorite essential oil. Spray pillows, sheets, towels, washcloths, stuffed animals, and bedspreads. You may also choose to use it as a room or bathroom freshener. I spray the guest towels in the bathroom and it lightly scents the whole room!

Not only are these wonderful for your own use (keep one in every bed and bathroom in the house!), they make wonderful gifts for family and friends – and excellent hostess gifts!

Tie a little raffia around the neck of the bottle, or attach a dried flower with a thin silk lavender ribbon, and there you have it – instant “homemade gift.”

Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray

2 oz.  – vodka (you can use filtered water, but alcohol dries faster when sprayed)
15 drops  – Peace and Calming Essential Oil Blend

Mix together in a 2 oz. spray bottle (dark glass is best). Shake well against the palm of your hand 20-30 times, and shake a couple of time before each use.

While Peace and Calming is an excellent choice for this spray, you may choose any number of Young Living’s Therapeutic Grade single essential oils or blends. Other Suggested Oils:

  • Harmony
  • Sacred Mountain
  • Lavender
  • Lemon
  • Thieves
  • Purification
