I found this recipe on The Parisienne Farm Girl’s website. (She has a lot of good ideas, so be sure to visit!) This particular appetizer went perfectly with our daughter’s Mediterranean Herb Garden themed wedding, so I just couldn’t resist!
But I decided to tweak it a bit to include our yummy Creamy Feta Dip!

Simply spread the Creamy …

Anyone who knows our family, knows that we are “foodie” people. We believe that food should look as good as it tastes, and it should nourish our bodies as much as it nourishes our senses! And that was our goal for our daughter’s wedding.
We started with a Mediterranean herb garden theme (perfect for our daughter, Melissa), and accented it with plenty of fresh herbs, some of which were home grown by a good …

Whether it’s sweet or savory, I love sauce! The first time I ever had sticky rice was in a Thai restaurant, and all I could think …

Fall is here and winter is on its way. Today we harvested the last of our garden and prepared the ground for next year. Now, what to do with all the wonderful green tomatoes and peppers? Tonight we made this Tex-Mex inspired soup and served it with corn bread and a salad. Everyone said it was a keeper, so I thought I’d share the recipe while I remembered what all we …

In the McDonald household, “Chicken Pickin’” time is a highly valued family tradition. Basically, it’s the time when children (especially those who look like they need a “job”) are chosen to gather around the table (little children too) to “pick” chicken meat off the bones after making rich, homemade chicken stock. When it’s all finished, we bag up the shredded chicken, put the rich, golden broth in mason jars and store …

Over the years, our family has traveled many thousands of miles together, across the country and beyond, speaking at family conferences, homeschool conventions, and churches. Of course, now that we’ve married off a few children, our clan of twelve is now a dwindling group of nine. And the diapers and port-a-cribs we used to need are no longer necessary. Since our little ones are growing up, …
