Can’t Wait for School to Start?

Print Friendly

So, today, after over a month of a house full of company, I was talking to the kids about how ready I was to get back on schedule and start school again. My daughter, Virginia Grace, said, “Mommy, you sound like that song in ‘White Christmas’ where they sing, ‘And mom and dad can’t wait for school to start again…'”

Me: Grace, what do you think they mean when they sing that?

Grace: The parents are excited about their kids learning.

Um. Yeah. I love homeschooling.

I’m so glad God called us to home school. Even with the rollercoaster times, some of which were so wearying…there have been so many more memorymaking days that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

That is just great Stacy. We are so ever blessed to this calling. Thanks for the reminder. My last child (our 4th) is graduating this May, and I am feeling a bit sad and overwhelmed. Great in a way, because I won’t have to plan and get curriculum and study, but then it reminds me another era of my life has just passed. Wow, we are ever teachers, just in different capacities. Be encouraged as you continue and press on in this God-given role.
    Always Experiencing Him,

Don’t you just love it when our children are completly innocent of the world’s meaning to things!
