A Right to Live…

The following article was written by my husband, James McDonald:

Psalm 139:13-16: For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. …

Fashion Slave?

Recently, I read a helpful article that was basically a do’s and don’ts fashion list for Christian young men. Let me begin by saying I agreed with the general sentiment: Christians—even Christian men—shouldn’t dress in obnoxiously outdated styles that communicate “nerdiness. When possible, I agree that as Christians we should present ourselves in a way that is winsome and attractive. But, as a parent, I found the …

Train up a child in the way of a…prostitute?

I am heartbroken for the little girls out there who are not only unprotected, but exploited – even by their own parents.

I was absolutely apalled today when I read the following article, which included a video of 7-year-old girls at a dance competition! They were dancing to bump and grind music, in red and black stripper bikinis,  gyrating for the crowd:

“The signs are all there: The hip-grinding come-ons. Legs kicked up to the ear. Skin-baring lingerie. This particular video remake …

An Uncommon Gift…

Last night, we met together at church for our twice-a-month Titus 2 ladies class. In our discussion, ladies talked about the way chastity (or the lack thereof) affects marriage; both, our own, and society’s view of it.

What is the meaning of profane?

- to treat (something sacred) with irreverence

- to debase by a wrong, unworthy, or vulgar use (vulgar means common or ordinary)

The beautiful gift of sexuality is profaned when …

Mothering “Under the Influence…”

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul. – Horatio G. Spafford

I spent over a year wondering what was wrong with me. That persistent sinking feeling in my chest just wouldn’t go away. My nerves felt like they were consistently on the outside of …

A Mother and Child in an Interior by Peter Ilsted

Today, I read a review of Passionate Housewives, the book I co-authored with Jennie Chancey; and, I breathed a sigh of relief. Since writing our book, Jennie and I have read numerous reviews and received hundreds of emails from readers testifying to the fact that God is using Passionate Housewives to remind Believers …
