Creator, Healer, Sovereign Lord!
Who opens and closes the womb? Who miraculously forms each child in secret? What an awesome God we serve!

“He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you.” (Deuteronomy 7:13, ESV)
“But to Hannah he gave a double portion, because he loved her, though the Lord had closed her womb.” (1 Samuel 1:5, ESV)

Amen! Yes He is!! Praise His name!
I love all the scripture about our wombs. I was recently reading about King David and how he was dancing before the Lord in worshipful abandonment. Well I must have missed it in the past but…………..the scriptures go on to say how Michal his wife is watching her husband with scorn and despised him in her heart…………..and her punishment for not supporting her husband? For not being a helpmeet? She was barren.
Amen He is in control!!!!
Amen!
Thank you for your encouragement, Mrs. McDonald. :)
Thank you for your posts! They are always so encouraging and uplifting. I am beginning "Raising Maidens of Virtue" with my 13 year old this week! I am excited about it and thankful that God gave this to you to share with us.
Amen!!! Praise the Lord we can know His heart through His Word!!
How well we know this!!
Having 3 miracle children to the wonder of doctors, and then an adopted child, HE is truly the giver of life. Who are we to stop HIM?
Amen! From somebody's who's womb has been closed and miraculously opened.. :)
I'm so thankful for our previous infertility. It made us ever so grateful for the blessing that it TRULY is.
Grace
Please don't judge Michal. It is not your call. Her anger was justified. Although it is not good to hold anger she busied herself helping out with all the children in the kingdom. David lied with many woman. Bathsheba was David's helpmeet. He loved her the most and ignored his wives and concubines. Give her a break. Michal left and tried to move on but David forced her to come back. How would you feel if your husband had children from other woman?
Grace is something that God gives us.
He is PRO-active, not RE-active. Praise God for His hand in our families – from the VERY beginning.
So true, Georgia. After David forced Michal-twice-to uproot her life for him, the second time was very clearly proof that he and not her was the one holding on to bitterness and petty anger. Her feelings were indeed justified: while I'm hesitant to criticize worshipping God in abandon, let's face it, if a woman had been jumping around in her undies bouncing her hips in front of the whole country, there'd be ENDLESS comments about how immodest she was and how she was shaming her husband. David likewise shamed Michal and himself, in almost all of his actions towards her.
Indeed, God is VERY pro-active and often works miracles I don't even sense at first :)
Don't tell me you are pregnant again. If so, CONGRATS!!!!!
Could "she had no children till the day of her death," be a euphemism for possibly having no physical relations with David again? I've always wondered…I always felt sorry for Michal, too, because she was wrongly treated all around, although I do not approve of people despising those who worship freely and openly.
Hey Stacy,
My husband and I were recently convicted to have more children. He just had a vasectomy reversal by Dr. David Wilson in Oklahoma. I have been trying to look for some encouraging things to read, particularly others who went through the same thing and what happened since. I can’t seem to find anything. My husband and I have recently moved and feel very much alone (as far as friends, not the Lord) and would just love to feel like we have support through testamonies. Do you know of anything I could read that will encourage me in this time of waiting to see if the Lord will bless us with more children? Thanks!
