Daughter Rejects Famous Mother’s Rabid Feminism

“She’s revered as a trail-blazing feminist and author. Alice Walker touched the lives of a generation of women. A champion of women’s rights, she has always argued that motherhood is a form of servitude. But one woman didn’t buy in to Alice’s beliefs – her daughter, Rebecca, 38.

Here the writer describes what it was like to grow up as the daughter of a cultural icon, and why she feels so blessed to be the sort of woman 64-year-old …

Punishment?

Many of us grow weary of those who don’t view our children as Scripture does – a blessing and a reward. But on March 29th, Obama claimed that some children (those born out of wedlock) are more than a burden – they’re a punishment. I guess that’s why he sees nothing wrong with allowing infants to be murdered only seconds before they’re …

Deep Thinkin’ and Sweet Fellowship

Well, it’s now been over a week since all the excitement around here began; and it’s been almost 24 hours since it all ended. Last week, our church hosted our denomination’s annual Presbytery Meeting. In the process, our family had the honor of hosting a few of the families attending: members of the Davis, Hector, Lovett, Sproul, and Kulikauskas …

Gardening and Such…

No, this isn’t OUR yard! But having just planted our garden (with the help of the Davis clan), I was amazed at what this family was able to accomplish. We also just ordered our chickens – our first poultry venture, so pray for us! Check out how this family has become amazingly productive with only 1/5 acre of land! What’s our excuse again?

Court rules Texas acted improperly in seizing FLDS children…

SAN ANGELO, Texas — “A state appellate court has ruled that child welfare officials had no right to seize more than 400 children living at a polygamist sect’s ranch.”

“The appellate court ruled the chaotic hearing held last month did not demonstrate the children were in any immediate danger, the only measure of taking children from their homes without court proceedings.”

And pay attention to …

Celebration or Abomination?

“We live in dangerous times of societal change. And we are on a very slippery slope. If this attack on marriage succeeds, what is next? Incest? Polygamy? Pedophilia? Bestiality? By the “logic” used to legalize homosexual marriage, it will not be long until any deviant behavior is seen as normal in the eyes of the State.” Read the whole article on my husband’s …

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

One thing I am noticing: Virtually everyone seems to agree on the following things regarding the FLDS:

1. Children who are indeed abused or molested should be protected.

2. FLDS is a cult.

3. Neither under aged girls NOR grown women should be forced into a marriage against their will.

4. It is a tragedy that mothers and children have been separated and traumatized – and continue to be.

5. Those who have broken the law should be punished.

6. The 22-year-old …

Old Enough? Says who?

“[Louisa Jessop gave] birth to a son, Richard, her third child. And now, she tells NBC News, she is in a small and bare room furnished with a foam mattress on the floor in a foster home in Austin, Texas…

“Her husband, Dan Jessop, is staying at a motel in town. Her other two children, Amber, 4, and Rolan, 2, are in a foster home under the custody of the Texas Child Protection Service (CPS) [all of which were born before …
