Pull up a chair…
This is my friend, Kim, and her beautiful family (she’s the passionate housewife on the far left, in case you were wondering). Kim has honored me with an interview on her blog to discuss Passionate Housewives Desperate for God. Jennie will soon be joining us as well.

Is the average Christian woman ready for this message?
We’re excited and humbled to see how God is using Passionate Housewives. We weren’t sure how our book would be received; it’s not your typical feel-good woman’s book. Some of it is challenging. But from the reception we’ve gotten so far, I think more women than we realized are tired of having their ears tickled; they’re ready for some meat—they’re ready to be stretched..
If you’d like to read the other questions and answers, and perhaps join in the discussion yourself, come on over and pull up a chair!

Stacy,
I can’t wait to jump over and read Kim’s blog! I have been meaning to write you and let you know just how much your book has impacted my life. In December, my husband, our two-year-old son and I began attending a family discipleship church- that coupled with your book has literally saved my marriage and the future lives of my family. I must admit that when I first faced reading this book with the other women at our church I was a little hesitant. However, after I really started looking at what you two wise women had to say it just made too much sense to ignore! I was a stay at home mom but I wasn’t really taking the bull by the horns and living out my role the way I was meant to- and I didn’t even know it! I often tell people that our church is what taught us how to work toward truly raising a Godly, family-centered family, and your book is what taught me the steps to work on becoming the divinely inspired wife, mother and homekeeper I am supposed to be. I am so glad that I read your book when I only have one small child so that I can hopefully avoid many of the pitfalls I was headed for on the (unknowingly) feminist path I was on. I really can’t thank you and Jennie enough!!
In fact, your book inspired me so much that I started the Homekeeper Challenge 2008 on my blog last week to help encourage other women to truly take on the task of fulfilling their roles as well! I love your blog and check back regularly (by the way- I love the new look!). You have a very devoted reader right here and I look forward to learning more from you in the future.
Much Love in Christ,
MacKenzie

P.S. My husband and I are going to our first Christian Heritage Conference in Redmond, WA next month! Some friends of ours told us that you spoke there last year and were very inspired by you as well! Many blessings!!
Stacy,
Thank you for the interview. I needed to read what you had said, because I have been “feeling sorry for myself” lately. Thank you for putting the right perspective on things and for giving me the right direction once again.

I am really enjoying the new book. I went to college with Jennie, and was excited to jump into reading. The passage on false teachers in chapter 2 inspired my blog entry today. Blessings on you and your family! Thank you for sharing such Biblically-centered thoughts with us in your book!
Stacy,
Your book was a breath of fresh air to me. I have felt what your book talks about for a long time, but saddly find few woman who see motherhood as a sacred calling. Especially among young mom’s there appears to be so much feminism and just plain worldliness. I also felt guilty at times for not having a structured “quiet time” every day. I know I’m growing in the Lord, but the pressure from others that prayer and reading the bible has to look a certain way could really cause one to wonder if you’re doing it “right”. Thanks for freeing me of that (and others I have been able to share with!).
Have you thought about having a companion study guide for deeper reflection and a bible study format? I would really enjoy going through this book with many in our church. I just got 3 50% off books from VisionForum to give/lend out to people.
Lastly, our church had a Motherhood Conference a few months ago that was put on my Kathleen Nelson (website: http://www.premeditatedparenting.net/)
and she shared many wonderful thoughts along the same lines as your book – in fact I gave her an extra copy I had! She has many quotes from Ruth Graham one of which I think came from her was a different look at 1 Thessalonians 5:17. “pray without ceasing” of course I pray without ceasing because I can’t cease what I’m doing to pray.
May the Lord continue to bless you, Stacy, and turn hearts toward Him through your writing.
God IS blessing,
Vanessa
