Home from California!

Well, we are home! We arrived early yesterday evening from our trip to Turlock, California for the annual CPC Presbytery Meeting. We were reunited with some very much-missed friends and had the opportunity to meet some new ones. We heard a wonderful sermon by Rev. Steve Walker on the Lord’s Day and left refreshed and renewed.

For those on the Patriarch’s Wives list, we had the special honor of staying with Heather Davis and her precious family! After being on our list for almost 4 years, I finally got to meet her! She was the epitome of a gracious and attentive hostess and we felt truly spoiled!

Aside from sharing with us the very best strawberries I’ve ever tasted in my entire life, her and her family saw to our every need. I was so impressed with their children! Truly, their family is living out the Gospel! What an incredible testimony and a wonderful encouragement! Thank you, LazyD Ranchers (that’s the name of their “homestead” with a way-too-cool name – hey, it’s California)!

While there, we had the privilege of meeting up with our dear friends, the Erbers again. We’ll see them again in Jamestown, VA in a few short weeks. Though they live only a few hours from us here in Illinois, we only seem to meet up with them in other states! Thankfully, it looks like Maggie and her daughter might join us for a mother-daughter tea here in Illinois soon! Praise the Lord! I’ll keep y’all posted! Maggie and her daughter will be speaking at a Mother Daughter Tea in Washington State. So, if you live nearby, be sure to check it out!

God is good. We are thankful to be home and enjoying the simple life once again.

    Excellent post, stacy!

I am enjoying your blog — very encouraging … as a mother of 10… also an adoptive mommy to 5 precious blessings. :)

Nice to know you are an adult adoptee… I have been “running into” so many adoptees lately – and they all have wonderful things to say about being adopted! That encourages me!

    Bless you!
