Emma is Home!

We are thanking God for the prayers of the saints and for His wonderful mercy and loving kindness toward us! God went before us and the doctors and nurses were amazingly accommodating. They let me go back with Emma and stay with her until she was asleep, and called me the moment she woke up after the surgery. Then they let me hold her in a rocking chair until we went home. They were all very kind and went out of their way to make sure we were all comfortable. Thank you for your prayers!

The surgery went well and they discovered that it was in fact a hemangioma, just as the surgeon predicted. They sent it off to the lab, which I believe is standard. He had to leave part of the wall because it was attached to a tendon and he did not want to strip it (it could have messed up the function of two of her fingers), but other than that, the “bump” is all gone. Please pray her headache goes away before she wakes up and that the pain in her hand will not be too bad.

Emma is resting peacefully in Mommy and Daddy’s bed as I type. She is trying to shake off a nasty post-anaesthesia headache and a little nausea, but other than that she seems to be quite content.

Blessings to each of you. Thank you for all your prayers, emails, and letters. And thank you to Mr. Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Rupp for visiting us in the hospital. We thank God for each of you!

By His Grace,
Stacy McDonald

Stacy, that picture of Emma and the stuffed dog could be published. It’s painting material. So precious! Gloris Young, Peoria homeschooler who is taking the 10 minute a day contentment challenge!

Thank you for the prayers! Emma is doing great. Her headache and nausea passed the first evening. She is now back to her regular self. Her hand is sore, but it’s not slowing her down! She is learning patience because she wants to take the surgical dressing off NOW! Tomorrow is the set date. That’s ok; I’m not very patient either.
